The Tata Tiago NRG has received a minor upgrade. This includes the introduction of an AMT automatic variant in the petrol lineup, along with a few feature additions as well. The Tiago NRG AMT has been priced at Rs. 6.15 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). As a result, the automatic variant is costlier by around Rs. 45,000, in comparison to its manual counterpart.
The Tiago NRG is essentially a beefed-up crossoverised version of the regular hatchback. It was launched in September 2018. Cosmetic changes on the NRG include black plastic cladding, significantly sized roof rails, faux skid plates, a plastic insert on the tailgate, and a higher ground clearance. While the regular Tiago has a GC of 170 mm, the NRG offers a clearance of 180 mm.
Features on offer with the Tata Tiago NRG include fabric upholstery with contrasting stitching, 14-inch steel rims with full wheel covers, tilt adjustable power steering, manual AC, and remote locking. Additionally, Tata has introduced a few more features to the Tiago NRG to make it even more attractive for prospective customers. These new features include a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and auto-fold outside rear-view mirrors (ORVMs).
The Tiago NRG continues to be offered with two engine options. The petrol is a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder engine developing 85 PS of power. Meanwhile, the three-cylinder turbo diesel block displaces 1.05-litre and delivers 70 PS of power. Both these engines continue to be offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The Tiago NRG range is now priced from Rs. 5.70 lakh to Rs. 6.55 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It competes with the likes of the Maruti Celerio X and Mahindra KUV100 NXT.
