Maruti Suzuki has issued a formal recall for the 1.0-litre models of the new-gen Wagon R. In total, 40,618 units of the Wagon R 1.0, manufactured between November 15, 2018 and August 12, 2019, are affected by this recall.
The recall has been initiated due to a potential issue due to which the fuel hose can get in contact with a metal clamp. Though Maruti hasn’t mentioned what can be the consequences of this contact between the fuel hose and metal clamp, we advise owners of the Wagon R 1.0 to remain cautious and get their vehicles checked ASAP.
Maruti Suzuki dealerships will start contacting owners of the recalled Wagon R 1.0 units, starting from August 24. Customers can also check if their vehicle is affected under the recall by entering their car’s chassis number on this website. The chassis number can be found at embossed on the Vehicle ID plate as well as the Vehicle Registration documents. Inspection and replacement of the faulty parts will be performed free-of-cost to the owners.
Maruti Suzuki had launched the new-gen Wagon R in India on January 23, 2019. In addition to the 1.0-litre petrol engine, the new Wagon R can also be opted with a BS-6 compliant 1.2-litre petrol engine.
