Kia Motors India has finally made its official debut in the country with the launch of the Seltos SUV. Being the first product from the globally-popular manufacturer in India, the Kia Seltos has managed to acquire quiet a bit of interest from prospective customers. The carmaker hasn’t disappointed these prospects in terms of pricing, thanks to the Seltos getting a starting price of Rs. 9.69 lakh (ex-showroom, India). It is worth noting that this Kia SUV has accumulated more than 35,000 bookings, even before its official launch in the country.
The Seltos SUV has been launched in India in a total of 12 variants, spread across two trim lines (GT Line and Tech Line) and 6 engine-gearbox options. Following are the complete variant-wise prices of the Kia Seltos in India.

The Seltos is no small SUV. It measures 4,315 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and 1,620 mm in height. As a result, this Kia SUV is a bit longer and wider than its direct rival and sibling – the Hyundai Creta. The Seltos is also one of the smartest looking SUVs in its segment. It gets an upright nose with the company’s trademark ‘Tiger Nose’ grille. The automatic headlamps get LED illumination, LED daytime running lights, and a light guide that extends into the SUV’s grille. Both front and rear bumpers get faux skid plates for boosting the vehicle’s rugged looks. Also on offer are LED taillights and a chrome strip at the rear.
Kia, being a sister-company of Hyundai, has loaded the Seltos SUV with various top-end features. The top-of-the-line variants of the Kia Seltos come with a 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system that is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The system also comes with Kia’s UVO connect suite that offers users a total of 37 connected features, spread across 5 categories – Navigation, Safety and Security, Vehicle Management, Remote Control and Convenience.
Other advanced features of the Kia Seltos include electric sunroof, leather upholstery, 17-inch alloys, automatic climate control, Heads Up Display, 8-speaker sound system from Bose, cruise control, 360-degree camera, and a an in-car air purifier. Kia engineers have also kept occupant safety in mind. Hence, on the range topping variants, the Seltos gets 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, hill start control, front and rear parking sensors, and a blind-spot view monitor.
There are three engine options on offer with the Kia Seltos, all of which are BS-6 compliant. There is a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that is capable of putting out 115 PS and 144 Nm of torque, while being mated to either a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission. The sole diesel engine is a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged block that churns out 115 PS and 250 Nm of torque and comes with a 6-speed manual and a torque converter automatic gearbox option. Then there’s the range-topping 1.4-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, only available in the GT line, that is rated at 140 PS and 242 Nm. This engine can be opted with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual clutch automatic.

Kia Motors India has set up 265 touchpoints in 160 cities across the country. This, according to the manufacturer, will be enough to reach the end-customer with ease. However, the company is constantly working on expanding its dealership and service network in order to give the Seltos enough ground to compete against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Mahindra XUV500, Renault Captur, and MG Hector.
