The Hero XPulse will be launched in India in mid-2018. The bike was earlier showcased as a production-ready concept at the EICMA motor show in Milan. The company hasn’t revealed any official launch date for the motorcycle’s India launch yet.
The Hero XPulse is being considered to be a replacement of the Impulse, which has now been discontinued from the Indian market. However, the XPulse will get a larger 200 cc engine, as compared to the 150 cc mill found on the Impulse.
Media reports suggest that the bike maker has been working on the XPulse for quite some time now. Sources also claim that there were some people within the company that wanted the Hero XPulse to be powered by a much larger engine. This was being proposed so that the bike can compete against the popular Royal Enfield Himalayan, which gets a 411 cc engine.
However, the management at Hero MotoCorp wanted the XPulse to be developed as a mass-market product. Hence, it will feature a 200 cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine that will develop around 20 bhp. In addition to being less expensive to buy, the smaller engine will also help in offering slightly better fuel economy, as compared to larger adventure bikes in the country.
Deeper details about the Hero XPulse haven’t surfaced yet. However, it is expected to be launched at prices in the range of Rs. 1.1 lakh to 1.3 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
