DC2 CarbonShot – a modified Royal Enfield Bullet by DC Design

DC Design is a name that is widely popular in India for modifying cars inside-out. The Pune-based automotive design firm, named after its founder – Dilip Chhabria – has managed to redesign all famous cars sold in the Indian market. From the humble Maruti Swift, to the off-road inclined Mahindra Thar, DC Design has over the years customised a wide range of vehicles. And now, the design firm has decided to enter the custom motorcycle industry as well.

DC Design has announced the formation of an in-house arm that will be dedicated to develop bolt-on customization kits for a wide range of motorcycles. The company has also revealed its first customised motorcycle in India – the CarbonShot. Based on the Royal Enfield Bullet 350, the bike comes with high-end parts that are made from premium materials like carbon fibre, leather and steel.

The DC2 CarbonShot gets all-LED headlights at the front, below which there is a minimalist fender made of real carbon fibre. The rear fender too gets the carbon fibre treatment, and so does the elongated fuel tank. Interestingly, the fuel tank also gets real billet and chrome inserts. Moreover, the fuel tank that is visible to the eye is actually a bolt on case that engulfs the original fuel tank inside it.

The CarbonShot Royal Enfield also gets a specially designed seat. The bike can accommodate only a single rider as there is no seat for the pillion. The rider seat is made of high-quality leather that is placed inside a steel case. Interestingly, the seat assembly itself houses a series of LEDs at the back, which act as the stop lights as well as the turn indicators.

The side profile of the DC2 CarbonShot is equally enticing, thanks to the circular air filter and battery cover that have been designed by taking inspiration from luxury watches. Both these covers have been made using a mixture of Billet Aluminium and Carbon.

DC Design hasn’t tweaked any mechanical components of the bike. As a result, it carries on with the stock engine, suspension, drive, gearbox and swingarm of the stock Royal Enfield Bullet 350. This is just a bolt on customization kit which enhances the bike’s visual appeal, helping the owner to bring character to his / her ride.

DC Design has announced that bookings for the custom CarbonShot kit have begun at a token amount of Rs 25,000. The entire custom kit will cost Rs 76,000. Please note that this price does not include the original price of the base RE Bullet bike.
