The 2017 Datsun redi-GO 1.0-litre variant has been launched in India at a price of Rs. 3.57 lakh (ex-showroom, pan India). This larger capacity and more powerful variant will be sold alongside the regular 800 cc model. It will be competing against the likes of the Alto K10, Hyundai Eon 1.0 and Renault Kwid 1.0.
The Datsun redi-GO 1.0 will be available in India in a total of two variants – T(O) and S. Features on offer in the top-end trim include central locking, keyless entry, front power windows, driver side airbag, and a standard 1-DIN audio system with a CD player, USB and AUX-IN support. Sadly, this music system doesn’t get bluetooth support.
Aesthetically, the Datsun redi-GO 1.0 is identical to the smaller sibling. The only visual change on the outside includes a 1.0 badge, while the interiors get an all-black theme with contrasting silver inserts around the HVAC vents and the steering wheel.
Powering the redi-GO 1.0 is the same 999 cc, three-cylinder engine that powers the Kwid 1.0. It is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. An AMT variant is likely to be added at a later date. Output figures are rated at 67 BHP and 91 Nm. Datsun claims an ARAI-certified fuel economy of 22.5 km/l for the redi-GO 1.0-litre.
