Bajaj Auto recently unveiled its all-new Chetak Electric scooter in India. It will be launched in early months of next year. Now, it has been revealed that the Chetak Electric scooter will initially be sold through the KTM dealerships. It is worth noting that the Chetak will first be rolled out in Pune and Bengaluru, and then eventually be launched in various other Tier 1 and 2 cities across the country.
The Bajaj Chetak Electric is expected to be priced around Rs. 1.4 lakh (on-road). This premium pricing will thus make it obvious for prospective customers to expect a premium dealership experience. As a result, Bajaj appears to have taken a decision to limit the Chetak Electric sales from KTM dealerships for the time being. Meanwhile, regular Bajaj dealerships will also be upgraded in the longer term to offer a more premium experience.
The Chetak Electric is the first all-electric scooter to be offered by a mainstream manufacturer in the country. It is thus expected to attract some major customer interest from the market.
