The recently unveiled Audi Q2 SUV will be launched in India sometime next year. As per some sources that work with a component supplier for Audi in India, the company is planning to price the compact SUV very aggressively, with starting prices pegged around the Rs. 22 lakh mark.
The Audi Q2 is the smallest SUV ever produced by Audi. It is 4,191mm long, 1,794mm wide and 1,508mm tall, and has a ground clearance of 200 mm. As a result, it looks like a raised hatchback, instead of a proper SUV. However, Audi has added certain design elements on the Q2 to pull off the SUV image. These design cues include black body cladding, an upright front fascia, a large single frame grille and beefed up wheel arches.
The UK-spec models of the Audi Q2 SUV come with four engine options – 1.0L TSI petrol, 1.4L TSI CoD petrol, 1.6L TDI diesel and 2.0L TDI Quattro diesel. In India, the SUV will most likely be offered with the smaller petrol and larger diesel options, ie, the 1.0-litre turbo petrol and the 2.0-litre turbo diesel. Transmission options on offer will likely include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG.

Audi Q2 India – expected price
The biggest talking point of the Audi Q2 in India will be its price. Audi has a very narrow gap to place the Q2 SUV in the country, thanks to the bigger Q3 priced from Rs. 32 lakh. The Q2 is significantly smaller than the Q3 and also gets less powerful engines. As a result, the company will need to price the new Audi Q2 at a slight margin as compared to the Q3, in order to justify the bigger model’s higher price tag. We were expecting a starting price of around Rs. 25 lakh for the Q2. However, our sources have indicated that the Audi Q2 price in India will range between Rs. 22 lakh to Rs. 28 lakh.
